Slut Girl is a hentai menga published in 1999, it was illustrated and written by Isutoshi (who went on to produce titles such as Tende Freeze). The manga has become so famous due to the fact that it does not feature the typical rape, bondage, teens or tentacles that many other hentai illustrators have to revert to in order to get fans, Isutoshi concentrated on the relationship between the characters along with adding humour to the manga which made it very unique. The manga was published in six volumes and paperback collections of all six are now available, both in Japan and America where it has been licensed by the publishing company Eros Comix. The paperback collection of all six volumes was released in America on March 5th 2005 and can be located via it's ISBN number which is 1560976764.
Sayoko Bizen - The 'Slut Girl' in the story, she is fired from her job at the bank (which she was planning to rob) after she is found having sex with the manager. After this she runs into Satoru Ichi and finds out that he is fantastic at sex, she realises that by having lots of sex with him she can get money out of him to help with her get-rich-quick scheme. To help get money out of Satoru she enlists her friends that she brings home to him and he can have sex with. Eventually her scheme works and she leaves, but not before telling Satoru that she will one day return to him.
Satoru Ichi - A young guy who has never had sex, he runs into Sayoko by accident and they end up having sex. It turns out that he has fantastic stamina and is great in bed, which is why Sayoko decides to start seeing him regularly. She also often takes money from him, but not without rewarding him by bringing her equally attractive female friends around to share him in orgies. Eventually she leaves after her get-rich-quick scheme works, but Satoru is left with the promise that she will return one day.
This was an additional chapter that added an ending to the Slut Girl story which was left relatively open. The chapter has never been licensed to be released in America although it has been translated by fans (the first translation was made available in November 2004) and is easily available around the internet in both it's original Japanese form and the translated form. No other continuations to the series have been made as yet.
This was a revolutionary manga and it deserves to be recognised as such, before this practically no hentai mangas focused on plot or character development. Slut Girl added humour and plot and did it well, along with fantastic art and interesting sex scenes. It is a story that will keep you entertained from the moment you open the first page of the first volume until you close the final page of the sixth volume. It will also leave you wanting more, which you can find by obtaining the Slut Girl Alpha bonus chapter which continues the story and brings back a few of the favourite characters from the original story. The story is notable for it's unique art which makes a change from a lot of work that at the time (and still is) very much the same in the hentai manga fold, such as overly enlarged breasts on characters or freakishly large penises that put some readers of. This manga is very much for the average fan who wants to read a good story but wants to see some H material also added to it.
Some of the best sex scenes in the manga are the ones that feature many women with Satoru, in these it is plain to see that Isutoshi has put a lot of effort into making the illustrations top notch and they are very enjoyable to read through, with the dialog suiting the scene perfectly. It is a shame to most fans that after Slut Girl, Isutoshi stopped producing hentai manga and moved onto mainstream projects such as Tende Freeze, although there seems to have been a notable abscence it any of his productions since around 2004 (along with his personal website in Japanese not being updated), which leads some followers to believe that he has stopped producing manga as a whole, which would be dissapointing.
Overall, it is good to see that Slut Girl is finally getting the recognition it deserves as one of the best h-mangas of it's time and we can only hope that the author will eventually feel the urge to start producing more ecchi material as it has been a long time coming. If you enjoyed this title then it might also be worthwhile checking out his other manga Tende Freeze, which features very similar character designs although it does not have any hentai scenes in it, only moderately ecchi, which may dissapoint some fans who are hoping for a follow up which features full-on sex.
